Amazon Promises Fix For Alexa’s Creepy Laugh

For some users, Alexa has this creepy cackle that’s out of the blue. Amazon said they are going to change their phrase from “Alexa, laugh” to “Alexa, can you laugh?” This command should help reduce the issue in Alexa’s out of the blue laughter.

Some users have complained about this issue on Twiter. One user said, “WHY DID MY ALEXA JUST LAUGH OUT OF THE BLUE?!?!?!?” Another wrote: “Lying in bed about to fall asleep when Alexa on my Amazon Echo Dot lets out a very loud and creepy laugh… there’s a good chance I get murdered tonight.”

There haven’t been too many phone releases this year. The only ones were Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and the Nikia event. After Nokia sold a respectable 70 million phones last year, they decided to bring back an old favorite, but with a modern touch.

A UK businessman is challenging Google to not remove a criminal conviction from the 1990’s in the search results. Google said it would “defend the public’s right to access lawful information”.

The right to be forgotten is a legal matter and is a process, set by The Court Of Justice in 2014.

“The UK case revolves around a businessman who wants Google to delete links to a criminal conviction for false accounting in the late 1990s. His conviction is deemed spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.”

Disney Loses In Redbox Copyrighting

Redbox bought retail copies from Disney to resell in Redbox’s millions of DVD rental kiosks. Disney and Redbox faced a California judge to determine which side was going to win. Disney claimed Redbox was violating their copyright terms, while Redbox claimed that Disney was misusing the copyright terms because the codes were not allowed for reselling.

In the end, the judge ended up siding with Redbox, and Disney was in the dust. The judge declared Redbox wasn’t violating any copyright terms and Disney just will have to put up with it.

FaceTime Saves Woman’s Life

Opokua Kwapong lives alone in a New York residence. She FaceTimed her sister, and she noticed that her speech began to slur and her face began to droop. Kwapong thought her sister was joking around, but she wasn’t. Kwapong ended up calling 911 and was transferred to the nearest hospital. Once there, the doctors discovered that she had a clot in her brain, which paralyzed her left side. After Kwapong’s recovery, she said without FaceTime, her blockage would’ve gotten worse.

FaceTime saved her life because there were no other people around to notice the issue. Her sister on FaceTime was her only witness.

Google Chrome Releases It’s Own Popup Blocker

Chrome has released it’s own popup blocker that will prevent annoying ads from appearing. Those sites who fail to meet the guidelines, their ads will be blocked by chrome’s popup blocker.

Since Chrome has released it’s popup blocker,  this has created some rival for Adblock Plus. AB+ conducted a survey “to analyze how effective a CBA ad-detection tool can be, in terms of its ability to block ads.”
